Strainers
If the fuel supply has potential of having large contaminants, a strainer should be introduced before a filter vessel. The strainer works as a gate to prevent large particles from passing through the vessel.
Without a strainer, there is potential that the large particulates can rupture or damage the filter cartridges accelerating its replacement rate.
